Potential members are persons who are being considered as new members of a chapter.
You do not have to ride a specific brand of motorcycle or follow a specific 12-step program to be a member. Protocol requires that you present yourself as a potential member to the membership of your local chapter. Sometimes a person is approached by an ARM member, told about ARM, and invited to a meeting.

If you would like to be considered for membership you can send a letter to:
A.R.M. International, 1503 Market St.,
LaCrosse, WI 54601.
Or, you can complete a
Membership Information Request Form.
We will contact the chapter nearest you, (or the chapter you prefer), and they in turn will make contact with you.

Membership in ARM is of three specific categories: Full Patch, Associate, and Association Member.
Below are basic membership requirements for each category. Under unusual circumstances, exceptions to these requirements may be considered on an individual basis.

Full patch membership requirements:
Licensed male rider who is actively involved in recovery from alcoholism and/or drug addiction. Own, lease, or legally posses and operate a motorcycle of 500cc or larger.
Be able to attend chapter meetings and runs.

Associate members are the spouse/significant other of a Full patch. An Associate must actively support their sponsor in his recovery from AODA.

Association Members are people who are not active members of the above two categories but support the purpose and philosophy of our Association. Association Members receive a smaller patch resembling our center patch with the words
"Association of Recovering Motorcycles" in the outer circle. Association Members receive our quarterly newsletter. Individual chapters often stay in close contact with Association Members in their area.
